Before & After: Upholstery Projects
Our client had finished their home restoration and wanted to bring their soft furnishings up to scratch! The wood was striped and then painted black, and then the pieces were reupholstered in a Style Library fabric with all new foam and deep buttoned backs.
With its broken leg, this mid-century was in a bad condition - a perfect project for gutting and reupholstering! Once the leg was fixed, we sanded all of the wood and varnished it a dark walnut colour. Our client chose fabric by Febrick as it is lovely and textural. With our sofa upholstery service we also completely reupholstered the sofa and soft pink foam was used to make the sofa really comfortable.
Our client came to us to create a bespoke upholstered bed based loosely on a design they had seen online and using fabrics they had chosen. Our client wanted pillows attached to the headboard so we meticulously planned our materials and finish to ensure we achieved the desired look. It was also important that the design was comfortable and practical. The slated bed frame was built from scratch and upholstered with modern techniques.
With springs pocking through the cover and a massive hole in the seat this drop arm Chesterfield needed a complete restoration with our Chesterfield upholstery service. We stripped it right back to it’s frame, tied in the springs and made a completely new seat platform.
We created this headboard based loosely on a Kit Kemp style. It's circular shapes were emphasised by the large studs and it was covered with Imogen Heath fabric.
We reupholstered this wingback chair when we featured on the BBC One TV service ‘Flipping Profit’. We stripped the chair back to it’s frame and sanded and repainted the legs. The new foam was added and we reupholstered the wingback with two Osborne & Little fabrics to give it a new lease of life! Studs were also added to highlight the chair’s beautiful shape.
Our client had a chaise longue that was in relatively good condition but want the fabric changed so we got to work reupholstering it with an amazing butterfly print by Designers Guild paired with an off-white trim.
Our client came to use with a brown and drab vintage G-Plan armchair. They had a brilliant vision for it and sourced a vibrant South African fabric. With our armchair upholstery service we replaced all of the foam and carefully set about aligning the pattern on the fabric.
We made two bespoke booths for Kindred Yoga studio based in Deptford using Zimmer + Rhode fabric to complement the design of their studio space designed by Sacred Space Studios. We also made their beanbags and an outdoor bench.
This Osvaldo Borsani's D70 Tecno Sofa was treated with our sofa upholstery service. It was stripped back to the metal frame and the rust and uneven surface was sanded in order to achieve an even finish for the satin black paint. New pirelli webbing and new foam were added which were cut to the curved shape of the sofa. Using inspiration from images found online, we were able to recreate it’s iconic design.
This antique Swan Tub chair was treated with our wood restoration and chair upholstery service. We meticulously stripped back, sanded and erased several layers paint to reveal the beautiful wooden frame of the chair. The wood was then dyed and varnished per the clients chosen colour. The chair was then webbed, sprung and a foam layer was added using modern upholstery techniques as per the clients request. It was covered in a Covertex fabric with double piping to finish it off.
